| Bf.109 was the design masterpiece. It had no resemblance with products which were made earlier. At the time of its creation conventional characteristics of fighters have not been taken into account and designers used advanced concepts in aerodynamics and design. As a result this fighter had extraordinary flying qualities. Bf.109 was a minimal airframe with a maximum powerful engine, with a progressive all-metal structure and a stressed skin. Bf.109 had gap flaps, collapsible landing gears and a closed lamp. |
